About Company
Studio MAT Architects is a Mumbai-based architecture and interior design practice led by principal architects Harsh Soneji and Pratha Bhagat. The firm focuses on creating distinctive spatial experiences through architecture, interior design, and urban design, approaching projects according to their individual scale, context, and requirements. Its official portfolio includes residential, commercial, hospitality, and other design projects across locations such as Mumbai, Pune, Goa, Alibaug, Kerala, Assam, and Lucknow.
The studio provides architectural and interior design solutions with an emphasis on customized design. Its work considers multiple aspects of a project, including functionality, aesthetics, context, climate, materials, budget, and project timelines. The firm identifies attention to detail and customization as important aspects of its practice and seeks to develop design approaches specifically suited to each project rather than relying on a fixed design formula.
Studio MAT's portfolio demonstrates experience with residential homes, apartments, penthouses, offices, hospitality spaces, resorts, and other built environments. Its interior design work ranges from minimalist and contemporary homes to projects incorporating locally sourced materials, traditional influences, and distinctive material palettes.
Sustainability is also an important part of the firm's stated approach. The studio aims to balance environmental considerations with practical requirements and incorporates context-sensitive materials and design strategies where appropriate. Its philosophy emphasizes honesty in design, client satisfaction, continuous exploration, and the relationship between functionality and aesthetics.
Overall, Studio MAT Architects combines architecture, interior design, customization, and sustainability to develop spaces intended to respond to both the physical setting and the needs of their users.
