About Company
Design Matters Architects is an architecture and interior design studio based in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Established in 2011, the firm works on residential, commercial, hospitality, and institutional projects, developing design solutions that respond to the requirements of each client and the characteristics of the project site.
The studio provides architectural design for new buildings and major renovations, covering activities from initial feasibility assessment and concept development to detailed construction drawings and project handover. Its interior design services include space planning, custom furniture design, lighting arrangements, material selection, and detailed drawings for homes and workplaces. The firm also offers consultations for property evaluation, design reviews, and feasibility studies.
Design Matters follows a project-oriented approach that begins with understanding the client's expectations, site conditions, and practical requirements. The design process progresses through concept development, refinement, technical documentation, and coordination during construction. This helps align the proposed design with practical considerations such as materials, structural requirements, and budgets.
The firm's portfolio includes individual residences, apartments, workplace interiors, and institutional buildings. Its projects demonstrate an interest in thoughtful planning, natural light, material selection, and details that contribute to the overall usability of a space.
For interior projects, the studio prepares design and detailed drawings, while execution is undertaken by interior execution partners. For architectural assignments, its services can extend to construction-stage coordination and handover-related activities.
By combining architectural planning with interior design and consultation, Design Matters aims to create spaces that are appropriate to their setting and intended use. Its approach emphasises collaboration with clients, careful development of design concepts, and practical documentation to support implementation.
